Altered Art With A Fleur~ish

I got this fleur de lys from Ballard Designs a few months ago for about $15.00.   Nice enough on its own, but it looks a little puny to me.

The other boat picture I had {the one with the broken glass} was calling out for use.  I took the frame off the picture and removed the broken glass.  I got to save a step because the frame is already black so I didn’t have to paint.

I then took these images from The Graphics Fairy.  All with the same antique look and color.

Once I printed them out, I arranged them right over the boat picture {keeping the mat as is}, to find the most pleasing lay-out, and then I used craft glue to glue them on.

A little hot glue on the fleur and I have a beefed up fleur and a nice piece of wall art!  I hung it in our spare/guest bedroom, which has a French flair to it.

Here’s a close-up of the papers I used.
