While I had the Old White open recently, I decided to paint two additional pieces I had picked up. One was the little tote from GW that I shared.
The other was a small round wood board that I found at the local antique mart and which I have no before picture of. Both got a couple of coats of the Old White chalk paint.
I was going to leave the tote plain and maybe add a graphic at a later date, but I thought that might be a problem to do after waxing. So I found this graphic I had saved on my computer {I think it is from Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict. Correct me if I’m wrong}.
I added the graphic to each long side. Then did both clear and dark wax.
The round board got a French label graphic from The Graphics Fairy and clear and dark wax.
I love these wood boards in vignettes on a kitchen countertop.
This one would also work great as a base for a cloche.
The tote is coming with me to the Holiday Market, but the wood board is already in my Etsy shop. {SOLD!}
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty creations. That little tote is adorable. How did you transfer the graphic onto the pieces?
hugs
Sissie
I love both items. you are so creative..
ReplyDeleteGood morning Kathy, Normally I love wood which isn't painted, but you have transformed the tote and wooden board. They look stunning, especially with the graphics. I think I am going to have to re-think my approach to wood. Best Wishes Daphne
ReplyDeleteVery well done, Kathy- looks awesome, per usual - you are always such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI am getting quite a collection of things to one day paint - I don't paint so am a bit nervous, and have never tried graphics...one day perhaps I can attempt it!
Have a great day!
Too cute- love the round as a cloche base! Wait til you see my latest cloche base- Debby thought I was absolutely nuts when I bought it at the barn sale last week. I'll have to post it after I get back from NC. :-)
ReplyDeleteOoooooh, love that little tote!

ReplyDeleteThese are both wonderful, Kathy. I especially love the round piece as a base for your cloche. I would have never thought of that. And, of course, I never met a tote or caddy I didn't have to revamp. Love the graphic. I saved it to my computer.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
