Paint Color Options ~ Master Bathroom

The paint selection now moves into the master bathroom.  Along with new paint, this bathroom needs a new vanity.  Not something I was looking forward to having to replace, but it’s got to be done.

Here are the colors I need to narrow down for the master bathroom’s walls:  Minted, Lighter Mint, Softened Green, Citrine, Lacewing, and Dewy.  Five are in the green family and one (Dewy) is more of a blue/green.  They are all fairly light because we have no windows in this bathroom and are dependent on the vanity lighting.

I had a similar green color in our master bathroom at our old house and just loved it (I loved that whole bathroom!), so I would like to have some green in here.

Of course, I had a window and two skylights in that bathroom, but you make do with what you’ve got, right?  I’ll share which color I chose when I post the “after” pictures.

  4. Your old master was beautiful, Kathy. Our master was painted about the same shade of green but the realtors told us that we needed to change the color to more of a neutral one. (Perhaps the problem was that the toilet, shower and tub were hunter green from the 1990's and the green walls just exacerbated the too-old color of the other stuff....)Now ours master is a light beige/whitish color. I like it, but I do miss my green bathroom! I'd go with the bluish one for this bathroom.

  6. Yay for more color choosing! I love this part of the creative process of a room update. ;)

I love the idea of green!! From my experience certain light greens can read "nursery" in my opinion. So I really like Dewey as greens with more grey to them read less nursery. I'm intrigued by that softened green as well. HHmmmm - you have some fun decisions ahead!

  7. I vote for Minted. And I loved the bathrooms at your old house too. Especially the one off the kitchen. Ah, memories...

  11. I love these colors and they do look great in your previous bathroom. I once had green in my living room, kitchen, den and office...all at the same time. So I would probably be more inclined to go with the aqua...it's very "spa~like".

I am so excited to hold that little baby. I am making a few casseroles and Italian dishes for the happy and tired couple, I hope it gets them through the next few weeks. MC has a ton of family nearby and I'm sure she will have more food than she needs once she delivers. I try to remember what I needed when I came home with a baby (besides sleep!). Extra diapers? Any suggestions?
