Booth Update

It’s been awhile since I updated you on my booth, so I thought I’d do that since I don’t have any projects to share right now.  I took some pictures the other day when I went to drop off the French Script Table and Vanity Stool.

I’m still waiting on things to rework our master bedroom and a couple of things I worked on are Christmas gifts, and I can’t really share them.  So, there you go ~ booth update!

I’ve had the booth space since the weekend of Easter this year.  It has been interesting seeing what sells and what doesn’t.  Mirrors always sell, chalkboards seem to go after a little bit of time and magazine bundles do well, too.  The furniture can go either way ~ the Queen bee nightstand I did recently sold within a week of being in my booth, while a chair I had in there for three months just sold.

The French Grain Sack table is still there, which I was kind of surprised about given the great response I had on my blog.  Someone did inquire about buying it and having it shipped, but the shipping was a ridiculous amount of money.  The magazine holder I made over, as well as the footstools, went quickly so I’ll be looking for more of those.

All the pillows I have brought in have sold, so I am going to get started making some more.  I’ll probably go with a Christmas theme at this point, with one or two French themes thrown in.

It’s a constant learning process and work in progress, especially with setting up displays. I move things around every week to keep it looking fresh.  I’m looking forward to bringing some Christmas decorations in, in a few weeks.  Meanwhile, I constantly look to Pinterest for inspiration on ideas for display and decorating my booth space.

  1. I think you have a fabulous booth - and you seem to be moving things quickly!

One of these days I hope to come your way - perhaps when I am kinda close when on my way to Indy I can make time to do so - would be so nice to meet you in person then too.

I hope you have a fabulous holiday season of great sales, Kathy!! ♥

  2. Hello Kathy,
Your booth looks great, as always. Yes...furniture can be really funny how fast or slow it sells. Have fun making those holiday pillows.

  5. Your booth is one I would definitely stop in and look for goodies in...it's funny how important that is to me when I'm in an antique mall. I probably miss a lot of neat finds just because the booth is so uninviting. Hope you'll show it off when you get your Christmas things in...you're so talented1

  7. I think your both looks so cozy and inviting. I see about 3 or 4 items I get right now if I were there. Isn't is interesting to study the buying habits of people and how they approach different items in your booth. Things you think will sell within a day seems to stay forever and other items you aren't so sure about, sell before you know it. I hope you're prepared for the frenzied holiday rush, I can't wait to see the holiday items you have for your lovely booth!

  8. Kathy,
This is really lovely!! I Love the Burlap swags. But I am a Burlap fanatic, and just found some in Plaids and Herringbone. You know I think with any New Booth I have found the First year or so to be a really guessing game. Sometimes I have removed things only to put them back 6 months later and boom they sell right away. I guess that's why it's always suggested to move things around every couple weeks. But geesch during the Holiday season we're lucky if we can keep our booths fresh!

  9. Your booth looks wonderful! I don't have a booth, but sell at a consignment shop and I will tell you, I never know what will do well. Some pieces sit and sit and some pieces sell in 1 day.

  11. I think your booth looks great. A friend of mine who owned a furniture and accessory store told me that she keeps her spaces packed with items, that people love to search for what they are looking for and spend more time in a busy and full space, might want to try it and see if it makes a difference. Personally I don't like things cluttered, but we are all different. Different strokes for different folks.

  17. Your booth looks great, Kathy. Funny how different things sell in different areas. I can't sell a mirror, but if I take the mirror out and pop in a corkboard, they sell. Haven't been able to sell many pillows, either. I'm glad your booth is doing well. I'm debating how long I will keep mine.

  22. Looks great. A booth is in a constant state of flux, but it's always fun to decorate and do the displays and the learning process NEVER stops. At least it hasn't for me. I've been at this for 12 years and I am still learning.

  23. Hi, Kathy! I'm so glad the booth is going well for you. I agree it's so interesting what sells quickly and what takes a while. It's such a mystery! I expect your booth will have a wonderful holiday season!

  24. Your booth looks great, Kathy.
It's funny how you sell certain things for 6 months and it suddenly stops and something else picks up speed. It becomes a challenge to know what to buy when it's time to restock - sort of a crap shoot! But fun.

  25. Your booth looks great! I imagine it is interesting to see what sells and how fast. Maybe people like the smaller things because they're easier to incorporate into your home?

  27. Hello Kath y, hope all is good, your booth is so pretty. You do a great job. I am surprised that some of those items are still around. They are very nice pieces, I guess it is hard to know what may strike people. Not surprising that your pillows sell quickly, they are always so gorgeous!!

  31. One larger piece of furniture may be more helpful in a corner filled with your found treasures. Seems to have always worked in my shop. I discovered over decorating sometimes takes away from the sale items, but is a shop to just look at. Frustrating, but fun. Good luck.
