I’ve put a few books on the side that I would normally have donated or just covered with paper, but after seeing some pictures on Pinterest of old books and the painted and stamped books that Karen at Shabby Sweet Cottage did recently, I decided to try my hand at painting mine. Below are pictures of my Pinterest inspiration and Karen’s books.

I started with these three books.
I wanted to use paint I already had on hand, so I did a couple of coats of French Linen chalk paint, then added a coat of flat white paint.
I sanded them a little bit so they would look old and worn.
Once the paint was completely dried, I checked out the stamps that I have to see what I could use. I chose a script stamp and two others that I just used a portion of.
I did the script stamp along the bindings.
On one I did it on the front cover, too.
I also used this “Love” stamp on the front cover of another.
I’m really pleased with the way these turned out!
Once I get the bench I’m looking for {under my gallery wall in progress} I will be using them on it as decoration.

Loved the antiques vellum old post at Willow Designs, Kathy!
And, once again, you are so clever making up your own!
You could consider possibly tea staining some, too to give it another warmer look, too - would love to see how that would look - or better yet, how about gently rubbing a slight bit of ASCP dark wax - b/c vellum has a somewhat slight waxy texture - worth a try!?

I've always loved these, yours are perfect! I would use my script stamps, too! Also love the new blog header. Maybe it's not so new but I've been absent lately due to life getting in the way of blogging. Can you believe it:) Anyway, love the header and the books.
