I was very happy that Monday, a meeting with a client at a furniture place, also allowed me to visit a fabric showroom that I don’t often get to. I don’t have any specific projects that require fabric or trim, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stop in and see what I could find on clearance or sale.
This haul above is what I walked out of there $46.00 poorer with. Well worth it, in my opinion! I got trims and fabric remnants. I always head to the trim remnant boxes first.
This trim just grabbed me right away! Love the colors! They go perfectly in my dining room and I’m hoping there is enough here to do another table runner and use this trim on the ends.
I tried looking for more in the boxes filled with trim remnants, but only found one that incorporated green into the mix. It seems to be 1/2 a yard so I may wind up using that instead. {Top right in picture}. I also got a couple of tassels.
I didn’t take the trims in plastic out, so I apologize for the glare off the bags. The center one is a beautiful blue and cream bullion with some natural colored wood beading mixed in. The one to the left of that is also the same colorway, but is a flat trim with an embellishment every few inches.
There is another coppery one that I thought might work well on decorating bottles or things because it doesn’t dangle too low.
But my favorite of the trims were these beaded ones that I found just sitting in a basket. These were definitely in mind for crafty projects. A yard and a yard and a half with these two.
Here’s where I’m thinking the beaded trim will work well. These beaded trims would also look great dressing up a plain lampshade.
How does that look?
I didn’t find too much in fabric, but here’s how pathetic I am when it comes to loving fabric. The little piece of orange and pink I folded over so you could see it is reversed on the other side. I could make any little thing with this ~ a bib, a tiny pillow, one side of a book mark or an addition to another piece of fabric to make something bigger. It’s so small, but I love the colors.
I got this diamond patterned fabric thinking I might use it for a vinyl name project for a wedding present. It’s a neutral background but has a green and yellow tone in the dots between the diamonds.
I also liked this cotton faded floral toile-y looking fabric. I’m thinking pillows or I may even try an apron with this one. Which brings me to the last one. I’m not sure what I was thinking, but there was something about this fabric.
After I got it home I felt it looked a bit dated, but I bet this would make a great kid’s apron or adult gardening apron.
This fabric showroom has so many beautiful fabrics and trims, it could get so overwhelming unless you go in there with a color scheme and budget in mind. I would suggest that for a trip to any fabric showroom. Otherwise you could drive yourself nuts trying to make a decision!

It IS fun going to a nice fabric showroom, isn't it? That's trims and fabrics are really, really fun. Well I would think about trim for pillows or a table runner when looking through remnants, but not trim for bottles! How cute and what a great idea!

Sounds like a fun place to visit! I also love trims and have a drawer-full! I especially love the 1st trim pictured
Kathy, I'm pretty sure I have a large piece of that orange and pink polka dot. I made some pillows from it for a client a long time ago. I'll check today and if I have it, I'll send it to you wlong with the other thing you've been waiting on forever. :) I just get so busy, I'm sorry. I'll let you know if I have it. I also think I have a trim that matches it.
Love all the yummy goodies! I love trims and tassels and roping - all that good stuff. You found some real gems. I'm sure you'll create some gorgeous things with what you found.
Oh, girl, you know I'm drooling over all that trim! : )
You sound just like me! I can't find a good fabric sale without dragging out everything out of the bin and taking a few things home.
Nothing makes me happier than to come across a booth an an antique mall that has old vintage fabric pieces. Love it.
And I love your selections. I like what you're doing with the bottles.

Oh very nice! I am seriously coveting the beautiful blue and cream bullion trim as well as the flat trim with embellishments of the same color. Great selections!
