Brown and Cream

While cleaning up my little creative space to get ready for the Where  Bloggers Create party next month, my eye happened upon the cans of spray paint that I need to put away.  I was struck by how nice the creamy color of the Heirloom White looks with the Espresso brown.

It made me think of a set of dishes I bought a year or two ago from Kmart.  {This picture is horrible but it’s all I’ve got and is from over a year ago!}.

It made me think of my favorite colors in transferware {which I don’t own any of ~ yet}.

It made me think that this combination would work for a husband and wife with the brown being more masculine and the cream being more feminine.

It made me think of the many ways it could be used in home décor.

Even my recently redone dresser has a brown and cream theme going on.

And fashion.

I think I may have to give this combination more attention in future!

I love this combination! I have it in our living room and a combination of this with a touch of blue in our master bedroom. Love those dishes. They remind me of the Johnson Brothers dishes my aunt used to have. I think hers were square if I remember correctly. She used to put them in the oven to heat them before dinner . . . funny how that just popped into my head. I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekened!

Hi Kathy,
I love brown and creme together. I also love brown transferware, but only have a few pieces.
The room with the toile draperies makes me want to redo a bedroom! LOL!

I really like the combo, too. It looks "rich" without being "stuffy."

That is a pretty combo isn't it? I love the room with the blue walls though...so maybe I need a little bit of aqua with it after all.

Kathy honey what a wonderful post you have put together. These colors are prefect like you mentioned for both sexes.
If I ever moved and started over this would be my choice.
Your night table you redid turned out fab. Wish I had your talent.
Have a safe and Happy 4th

Hi Kathy-

I am loving brown and cream right now, too. Brown has never been my color, but I am really beginning to get excited about it. The bathroom I am re-doing all started after I found a brown and creamy white shower curtain for 14 dollars at HomeGoods.

All of the images you gathered are so pretty.

My best-Diane
