Organizing the Craft Sewing Room

In a previous post I mentioned how my little bookcases from Target had arrived.  Well, I put them together the next day and the two fit perfectly on the wall in my craft/sewing room where I put them!  I even have enough room still to keep my Etsy items like towels and totes hanging up on hangers.  Here’s the first one done and in.

Then the second, after I cleared everything out of the way.

I decided to use one to hold all my Etsy items that are completed and already listed, and the other can hold different craft supplies.  I was so glad I got all those pillows on one shelf.  Who knew five pillows could take up so much room?

The top makes for a nice area to display things and right now I’ve got my board that I use as a picture backdrop, a basket filled with my door hanger pillows and hearts, and a few decorative organizing items.

I’ve still got some straightening up to do and I don’t want to do a whole tour in here yet {I’m waiting for Karen Valentine’s Where Blogger’s Create party to do that}, but these pictures give you a good idea of where I am at this point.

Just as a reminder, this is where I started when we moved in.

And now.

I’m so happy to have everything up off the floor and more organized. I was starting to dread going in there just to look for a pair of scissors!

Hi Kathy, you have a great spot to work! Craft rooms are so hard to keep organized...at least for me! There have been times when I can't even walk in mine. I think I will wait for the party to show mine too. Would you believe they are going to replace the floors in here? They did not smoothe out the concrete and it's bumpy in places. I'm glad they are going to replace them, but that means I have to clear everything out! =0 They haven't said when they're coming yet...

Thanks for the nice comments on my Etsy store items and patio! It looks basically the same as last year. I'm going to paint the bench and maybe add a little more landscaping around the front of the patio. I'm trying to talk Kevin into it. We will see...Have a great day! Kristen

Awesome, Kathy- exactly what you needed!

Don't you love more organization? Sure helps keep out minds more alert.

Well done.

Lookin' good, girlfriend! How do you stay so organized?! LOL- I cleaned out the cabinet under my bathroom sink yesterday and it was so darn full of "stuff" even though I think I organized it a few months ago. Heaven knows what a craft room would look like if I had one! :-) Wanna hit some sales tomorrow? Call me.

Wow....what a great work area! That would be so fun to sit in and work on fun projects. Maybe that's why I haven't been crafting much....because I have to drag it to the kitchen table and I don't want to keep putting it away. (I'm just Obsessive /Compulsive like that...LOL!)
