Fall Urn

SONY DSC                        Not totally thrilled with how this looks at the moment and it doesn’t help that I’ve been in a “blah” mood this week.  To my eye, it looks like someone just came along and upended a bag of leaves into my urn.  I will have to take some time and tweak it a bit, I think.

Here is a picture of our front door area that includes all three of the Fall projects I did this year.

SONY DSC

It was 91 degrees the day I put this together and they were letting the schools out early due to the heat.  I’m sure many of my neighbors were thinking I was suffering from heatstroke.

I keep telling myself that sometimes you have projects like this, where they don’t turn out quite like you were expecting them to.  Please tell me you’ve had one recently, too!

I think it looks fine, Kathy. Maybe just loosen it out a little by lifting it out of the urn a tad. Your porch is so inviting. It's very welcoming.

Actually, I'm kinda liking the urn filled with leaves! Maybe when it cools down a bit and feels more seasonable outside, you will like it, too. To be honest, I frequently have project turn out a little less stellar than I envisioned. But, that is just a part of the process - allows to tweak, tweak, tweak!!!

I liked it very much and it sure gave me inspiration fro my front door. Yes, sometimes it happens like this that we have something in mind and it turns out so different, sometimes better than what we thought, sometimes not so great.
Thank you for sharing this idea.

I have them all the time, Kathy ... rest assured! However, I LOVE your urn and don't think that it looks like you upended a bag of leaves one bit! All three pieces have created a beautiful and welcoming Fall door area!

Kathy, I love your urn! You're too funny about having a heat stroke! I have completed projects and not been pleased with the out come. I know what I have had in my mind and it hasn't come out right! I don't think your urn looks bad at all though! I know you and you'll figure out just what you wanted though!

I think it looks wonderful, Kathy. Maybe it's the hot weather that makes it not look quite right. I bet once the weather cools down, you'll like it just fine. :)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I like your urn. I have had days like yours where to me nothing works out and than I look at it through someone elses eyes.

Apparently your schools aren't air conditioned? Here, 91 degrees is pretty normal. It did cool down today though! Yah! Your front porch looks very pretty and colorful and I think your urn looks great! I know what you mean though, when you're in a blah mood, it's just not the time to be creative.

Kathy,
This looks great. I love it the way it is. We finally got a break in the heat and fall weather arrived. I am hoping to get some of my fall decor outside done this week end too. Leave the urn alone it looks great.

I think it is pretty, because it looks like you gathered branches from the yard.

I think you urn looks great, it's natural and not stiff and static. Every time I do a project I stress myself out about it and second guess myself. Every Time!
