Pink is about the only common thread in this post today!
I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a funk project-wise. I really want to work on some things, but just don’t have the energy or enthusiasm right now. I have some projects in the works for this summer, the patio I already told you about, as well as some updates to our main/guest bathroom. I’ve been trying to get to a sign for the past couple of weeks and the wood plaque I bought for it is too small, so it’s back to the store on that. I hope to have that done and posted about by later this week/early next week.
Meanwhile, I did pick up two plain t-shirts while at Hobby Lobby buying the wrong size piece of unfinished wood. They are XS for the granddaughter. She was with me and we also picked out two iron-on appliques of her choice. Simple enough to do and would make for a nice coordinated outfit if you don’t sew or don’t feel like you are crafty.
On the white tee I used this pink ballerina dress, crown, and ballet shoes {$4.49}. I placed them in this order, as if they were being worn, and followed the simple directions for ironing them onto the shirt.
The second tee is pink and my granddaughter picked out this pair of fairies {it was two to a package for $2.49}. I also gave them a random placing and ironed them on.
I think with inexpensive kids’ jeans from Walmart {there is one brand that is $4.88 a pair}, and additional appliques to match the shirts, you could have a cute little outfit for your favorite little one at a reasonable price.
You will be the best Grandma {or in my case, LaLa} ever!
My other pink is the rosebush I planted last year. I babied it through the hot and humid summer; making sure I watered it everyday.
I was worried the harsh winter might kill it off, but was relieved to see green and then buds. At the time you are reading this post, all those buds in the picture have burst forth into blooms!
Here’s hoping I get out of this funk and get some creating done!

Kathy those tees for your granddaughter are adorable!! Your roses look beautiful...I never had luck with them:(
I scroll down looking at the things you've made in your sidebar, and know funkiness won't hang around long at your house, Kathy! It's probably just an opportunity to rest up before a big surge of creativity! :)
Love the t-shirts! The little pink rose bush I planted last summer could fit in my hands. Winter took it back a bit... er, a lot. My fingers are crossed that it will bloom as pretty as yours.
Hugs,
Lin
The tee shirts are adorable! Great projects.

The tees are so cute, Kathy! I bet your granddaughter just loves them! Love your beautiful roses, as well! Pink roses have always been my faves!
Love the t-shirts...I never thought about iron-ons! I think I can handle that! And I have some little granddaughters who would like them! Thanks for sharing!
Don't worry, Kathy. We all go through a slump. All I've felt like doing after my show, is sleeping. lol Love the tees, and, the roses.
Kathy those cute tees remind me of when my girls were little. We were always embellishing tees and sweatshirts.Your roses are beautiful,I'm glad they survived the nasty winter. Don't worry before long the creative muse will strike and you'll be back in the swing of things. That darn funk happens to most of us at some time or another.
Those are too cute! Sometimes I wish I had a little girl. Some times. =) She'd be stuck wearing camo and leftovers from her brothers. LOL!

Kathy those are both so cute!
Sometimes I get that way when I have too much going on. I'm sure you'll start feeling those creative juices flowing soon.
You had me at pink lol! What adorable t shirts and such a great idea...Your grandaughter must be over the moon excited

I know exactly what you mean about being in a funk creative-wise. I've actually been there for months since our house went on the market. I am not good at living with the "less is more" motto. I love the ballerina t-shirt, it's something I definitely would have made for my girls when they were younger. Must be fun to get to dress a little granddaughter! xo Kathleen
Kathy, your shirts are adorable! I can't believe she is growing up so fast!Your roses are beautiful- one of my favorite plants and colors. I know what you mean about a blogging block; it happens. It will pass! I get so excited when I see your feed pops up in my inbox because I love your blog and ideas! I'm thrilled to have met you at Haven too!
Great pinks today!! The shirts are darling and the roses are so lovely!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Hi Kathy, the tees you embellished are darling. So much cuter then anything you could find already done anyway. Your rose bush looks nice and healthy. Love the pinks.

The tees are adorable, Kathy. The funk will pass- you just need a break, so how about coming to help me find a house?! Ha!
Cute tee shirts..Lovely roses..Take a break
Great job on those tees for your granddaughters.
Love the rose, but the tee shirts are just way tooooooooo cute.
Pink is good! Pretty roses, I have no luck with those. Cute T's!
The rose bush is beautiful, Kathy! I think we in the Midwest tend to hold our breath every spring to see if everything comes back!!
I love the shirts you made for your granddaughter...what a neat idea making a matching outfit with the jeans. Years ago I made a few shirts with some Mary Engelbreight iron ons. My MIL wore hers for years until the iron on was white and all crackled!! lol!
Hope you get your craft mojo back soon! :)
Jane
Love all your pink beauty today. Your granddaughter will be styling in those shirts!

Cute, cute tee shirts Kathy!!...I am sure they are a hit with your granddaughter!!!
Hope you're feeling better soon. I think it's normal for creative people to feel a void every now and then. Your rose bush is beautiful and I bet it's even prettier since you photographed it.
