New Look For The Bathroom Mirror

I decided to buy the frame for the bathroom mirror a couple of weeks ago.  I’m trying to limit any purchases over $100.00 to one a month.  Last month it was the headboard for the guest bedroom.  Here is the before.

And now the after!

What a huge difference it makes framing out that mirror!

I love the frame design, too.  I did this by myself and it was very easy to put up on my own.  The hardest part was waiting for the glue to dry, but I had it done and up within a few hours.

Kathy! I have to ask you about this mirror treatment. Did you have the frame made to fit the mirror, and did you glue it directly to the mirror without removing the mirror from the wall? What type of glue did you use. I am asking because I have this same type of mirrors in my home and have always wondered what to do with them.
Also, am I mistaken, or is your birthday on Halloween?
Have a great week ahead! I always love your decorating posts@ E

Wowzer!!! That turned out wonderful. So many houses have that same mirror above the sink. Adding the framed molding makes it fab.

Kathy, what a HUGE difference! I hate the look of plain, builder grade bathroom mirrors. Your new frame looks great. And I love your shower curtain! Beautiful!

What a nice improvement! I've been wanting to do this to our master bath mirror for 8 years, but the mirror is so HUGE that I've shied away from it. Did you make the frame yourself or did you buy one premade? What kind of glue did you use? It looks like it's always been there!

Wow Kathy, you're right - it does make a huge difference! Did you buy a ready-made frame or did you use pieces of trim from the home improvement store?

I can't get over what a huge difference framing a mirror can do to the entire space. I hope you give more details as to how you did this. I'd love to do the same thing on a mirror I have.

Kathy - we all want to know HOW you did that? It's gorgeous! I'm waiting to do the same thing on the huge mirror in the master bath. Your's is one of the nicest I've seen. So much nicer than just trimming it out. Do tell!!!!

What a difference the frame makes, Kathy! You did a great job! We have one of those boring unframed mirrors in our bath, I need to show this to hubby!!

I need to frame my mirrors too. Are you going to do a tutorial on how you did it? Pretty please.

I love your new mirror! I, too, have the kind of mirror that has exposed clips and I'd like to kow how you secured the frame to it, also. It's beautiful!!

Oooo! I really, really like the frame around your bathroom mirror. I see the sink vanity only has cupboards like ours does. I miss having drawers on either side, but we do have a vintage American Oak Medicine Cabinet over the toilet which comes in handy. And our mirror needs replacing after being thirty years old as the 'silver' is beginning to flake in places due to the steamy environment as we don't have a ceiling escape fan/vent.
Your photos give me some ideas! Thanks a bunch!

Please tell us how you did your mirror. I came over from BNOP and think it is beautiful! However, did you buy a kit, or buy individual pieces cut to the specific lengths? Share with us so we can turn our ugly grader build mirrors into a luxury mirror too. Thank you! :)
