Thrifted Chalkboard ~ Not For Kids Anymore!

Finally!  I get to use the great Menu graphic from The Graphics Fairy.  I have had this saved for so long waiting for a project I could use it on.

I found this chalkboard at Goodwill the same day I found the bulletin board

Very cute the way it is, but it’s getting a makeover.

I painted it in Old White chalk paint and then highlighted the outside area {where it had been a brownish gold previously} with some Provence.  Here it is paint dry, image added and ready for some wax!

I did the Mod Podge transfer method for adding the Menu graphic to the top.

Here she is with clear and dark wax.   The chalkboard freshly wiped.

All ready to go to someone’s home!

Great job! I need to give this a try. I have about 15 graphics printed out with my inkjet but I have to go and get them copied at Kinkos so the ink doesn't run. I keep forgetting to get them copied!

Looks great! I tried the mod podge transfer method and didn't have very good luck. I probably did something wrong. Your menu graphics were perfect for this one.
