I finally got around to doing some of those little things that I’ve been putting off for awhile. I painted the legs of the little footstool in our living room black from the grey I had them previously. Not sure why I went with grey to begin with, but it may have been because I had it on hand. Here it is with the grey legs {old picture from our old house}.
And after with the black.
The mirror I had done in our master bedroom last year was on my mind all the time. When I painted it Duck Egg I had touched on the details with Antique Gold Rub n Buff, but then the wax I did on top took some of the gold off. I finally got out the Rub n Buff again and went over those details again, so now I can see the gold better.
I found these two little busts at a garage sale a few weeks ago. Originally I was going to put them in my booth, but since I’ve admired busts on other blogs I thought I’d see how they’d work in my living room.
For now I am enjoying them on our fireplace mantel, sitting on pillar candleholders.
I am glad to finally check off those little projects that just kept getting put off. And then I wonder why it took me so long!

Love your projects and your mantle looks AWESOME!
The legs in black on that stool really made a great difference. I think the little projects get put off sometimes because for me, I usually think of them as a hassle and they really aren't.

All of your little updates look wonderful, Kathy. Now I'm kind of regretting selling the bust I found at a yard sale. Funny how we seem to come across some of the same things. :)
Kathy, your updates look great! I love the busts on your mantel and the small stool just pops now with the addition of painting the legs black. Duck Egg blue is one of my favorite colors; I love your mirror!

Sometimes it is "just the little things" that make us feel so much better to have accomplished! It's amazing how those can add up and when you check them off your list...such a nice feeling!
