My First Estate Sale

Friday I went to my first Estate Sale.  This is a fairly new community development I live in, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.   It was the second day of the sale and I’m sure there were a lot more things out the first day.

I did manage to find a few pieces of blingy costume jewelry.  These will come in handy for a few different projects that need that little bit of sparkle.

I also found this little lantern.  There were actually five of them, but I just bought the one for  my daughter.  I know she’s been wanting a lantern like this.   For $9.00 I think I got some good buys.

You did get some great buys! Estate sales around here, people line up a couple hours before they open to get in first. I never seemed to find anything by the time I got in.

Love the bling! People line up here too so you have to get there early. It's kind of frustrating in the winter but in the summer, I don't mind waiting. You really meet some characters waiting for the doors to open.

I love your bling. How fun to shop at an estate sale. I've never done that. The lantern is sweet too - I imagine your daughter loves it!

I love your finds!
What fun . . . you did find some wonderful things.

I'm excited about the possibility of you doing an altered book, too. Have you done one before? If so, do you have photos?
Have a marvelous day.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

That's an Ikea lantern - I have one. Love the vintage jewelry! You could make the clip on into pierced ones. The brooch is gorgeous!

Glad you finally got out there to one! When it comes to estate sales I'm like a kid in a candy shop. Picked up a fabulous coffee table at an estate sale recently for $40. I was walking on air when I left! Aren't they fun? Great bling!

Estate sales can be great! I've had some weird experiences at them, though. Not sure why it would be different than a yard sale, but for some reason....

You did get some great bargains on that bling. I much prefer the vintage baubles on recreations than the new stuff. Vintage just has so much more character. Great finds.
