An Unplanned Vignette

SONY DSC

While I was gathering all the Christmas decorations together and cleaning up, I found I had a blank spot on our dining table.  I couldn’t find the faux pomegranates I have, so I took this tote that I made over {here; it’s currently listed in  my Etsy shop} and put together a vignette using what I had readily available.

SONY DSC

The small transferware plate that I got at Christmas Tree Shop; the little balsam I had on the table for Christmas, with it’s Christmas paper removed and replaced with some red and white toile fabric; a white pillar candle on a silver holder; some more red and white toile fabric just folded over; a few of my sweet hearts {also in my Etsy ~ SOLD!}; and a mini pillow with a Valentine graphic on it {from The Graphics Fairy}.

SONY DSC

I played around with it until I was able to fit everything the way I liked it, tucking the hearts into the blank spots.

This will work out good, too, because I can move it easily for when we sit down to eat dinner.

Plus, I think the colors and pieces work for Valentine’s Day.

Now I need to work on the other areas in the house.  I can’t find some of the things I put away for Christmas! I’m on the look-out for my boxwood balls, for one.

Good Afternoon Kathy, I love Christmas with all the decorations, but I also enjoy the calmness of the house after the decorations have been put away. Your beautiful vignette creates a very calm feeling.....lovely. Enjoy your day, Best Wishes Daphne

Loved the red hearts so much I went straight to your Etsy shop and bought them!

Now I can't wait to get them so I can decorate with them. Watch for them to show up in a vignette at my site. :)

That is such a clever and very sweet little vignette. I just really like the combination of all the elements -- it looks natural and random.

Great vignette, Kathy. Red and white is one of my favorite color combinations. That little Valentine pillow is too darn cute. Did you make that too?

Gorgeous tray and display. I decorate in a tray for my kitchen table as well, so it is easy to move when we have guests. I am having the same trouble as you with finding things that I put up to make room for my Christmas decor...now it is time to get them back out, I have not located everything. Vicious circle, isn't it.

I love your table centerpiece! I do the same thing, tuck things away to make room for Christmas Decor and then I can't find it! Usually it is sitting right out in plain site!
