I just wanted to give those of you that have been linking up to The Creative HomeAcre Blog Hop, here on my blog on Sunday mornings, a heads up that there is a new name beginning this Sunday. It will now be called The Creative Home & Garden Hop, and here is a new button for you, if you collect them.

Last week I showed you this cabinet door I found at Goodwill.
Since I was painting some projects I made sure it was in the line-up. It got two coats of Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint.
I used one of the images I found on Pinterest {in my Craft Projects board} to fill in the middle section.
I did the Mod Podge transfer method.
I wanted it to stand out a little bit more, so wound up painting the inset black using Maison Blanche Wrought Iron.
I used a flat artist’s brush from one of those assorted sets you can get at the craft store. Being a shaky person, it made painting that inset area a lot easier!
I really like the way this turned out and would keep it if I had the room, but it’s on the way to the booth!

Be Inspired at Common Ground
In collaboration with Kirkland’s, I’ve got a “Look for Less” post for you today focusing on the bedroom ~ Guest or Master. Several months ago, I was on the search for an affordable upholstered headboard for our guest bedroom. I wound up going with one from Walmart, but wish I had known about this one from Kirkland’s.
Nora Queen Headboard – $299.99
Compare that to this one from Pottery Barn for $799.99. That’s a $500.00 savings and I like the look of the headboard from Kirkland’s better!
Everyone can always use some extra storage and I love pieces that are multi-functional. This storage bench from West Elm at $499.99 is a bit high for my pocketbook.
An affordable alternative is this upholstered storage bench from Kirkland’s.
Slate Gray Tufted Storage Bench – $129.99
I love nightstands with storage, too. This one from Pottery Barn is $599.00.
But, you can get the look for less at Kirkland’s for a more budget-friendly $99.00 with the Lynne Brown Nightstand.
Just because you have a budget doesn’t mean you have to give up style in your home. The items I have seen at Kirkland’s can give you the look you are after without costing you a lot. There are also lots of great buys in their Clearance section online, so be sure to check that out, too!

I found this pretty little clock at Goodwill and was thrilled when I got it home, put a battery in it, and it worked. Unfortunately, the mechanism was loose and the hands always sat at 7:30.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw how Dawn at The Feathered Nest made over a wood clock case. Now this one is plastic, but I thought I could do something similar on a smaller scale. My granddaughter loves butterflies and always wants to go into the bedroom and look at the Ballard knock-off shadow boxes I did last year. I decided to give her one of her own. I took the clock apart and painted it with Old White chalk paint.
I printed out a butterfly image {from The Graphics Fairy} to a size that would work and cut it to fit inside.
Once that was glued in place, I found a stick from outside, added some moss, and a couple of butterflies picked up from Michaels.
I put the front and back on again and now she has her own little tabletop butterflies that she can look at!
