Lately, I feel like a whirlwind and that there’s not enough hours in the day. I hit a couple of yard sales a week or so ago {some of them start on Thursdays here} and picked up a couple of side tables. I forgot to take a picture of one, which is the second time that’s happened now. I need to slow myself down. Here is the other one though.
Not in bad shape, but it definitely needs a refresh. It got two coats of Old White. Then I used a graphic from The Graphics Fairy for the Mod Podge transfer method on the top.
I decided to try a grain sack design and finally decided on a color for the stripes ~ Skyline, a craft paint from Folk Art. I taped off on both sides of the table and painted the stripes in.
I am really happy with the way this turned out. I love this table; such a great side table. The bottom shelf would be useful to hold magazines or books.
Some clear wax and then it is off to the booth!

Thanks for stopping by and your comment on the dress form. Yes, the graphic just faded out and you could hardly see it, so out comes the sharpie. LOL
Hugs, CM

Love it, Kathy. Your choice of blue was perfect, it really looks authentic, like an old grainsack! I'e been seeing a few grainsack tables in blogland and it's on my LONG list of projects. I know I'll keep coming back to look at yours as I go along. It will sell immediately for sure!
Great job on your table! I spent many years as a decorative painter....lot's of trompe l'oeil on furniture &walls. Cherry Kay

What an awesome table, too charming for words, really. Don't we just love Graphics Fairy!?!
Kathy, Count me in with those who think this will fly out the door of your booth. Too bad I don't live close enough to come right over and be the one to cart it out the door!
Judith
Kathy, your table looks great! It won't last long. I can relate to how you are feeling about being in a whirlwind...at times I feel overwhelmed! But, I do love what I am doing. Enjoy your day, Gail

I just love what you've done to the table. I have one that has been sitting here for a couple of days, and I think it would look great finished like yours. Great job! Love your blog.

Question please - I've done the reverse mod-podge on AS Old White and pale coloured chalk paints but always find that I get a shadow where the water for rubbing off the paper dribbles/slips onto the chalk paint - does it work to paint a coat of mod-podge over the rest of the surface around the transfer?
This table is really pretty, as the addition of the stripes really make it special. I'm sure it will sell in no time! Sounds like you are having a good time with your new booth. Good luck with it Kathy!
LOVE the table! I need a booth to get my things off to! Hope that is going well! Life to the full! Melissa
That is a super cute table! I bet you are busy - with life and then getting stuff ready for you booth!
Beautiful job on that table. Love it!
Judy
This was a wonderful makeover. I love the blue striping and the reverse transfer. That is great transfer and it looks good on just about anything. This will be a great item in your space, Kathy.
This looks really nice, Kathy! I really like the graphic in the center. Kathy from Petticoat Junktion painted a table in some cool colors after she saw mine. Check it out HERE. We all have a little different take on the idea! :-) Sue
Kathy,
You did a great job on this little table...it should fly right out of the booth.
Blessings,
Linda
Oh Kathy your table is just amazing!!
Kathy, this is so sweet! This is my first time to your blog and I love it. I can't wait to meet you at Haven. Would love you to come link up this little grainsack table at my link party - Silver Pennies Sundays- http://www.findingsilverpennies.com/2013/05/silver-pennies-sundays-link-party.html
Wow, this is gorgeous! You had me at grain sack ;)

I love your table. I have a piece of furniture this would work on, but my husband doesn't want me to paint it. I might have to begin it while he is on a bike ride. By the time he returns, there will be no going back.
This is absolutely adorable!
Gorgeous! In using the mod podge transfer method, do you use a laser or ink jet printer. I have tried with my ink jet and does not do so well. Thanks:-)
Your table is gorgeous! Love it! I love working on old furniture. Thanks goodnes for the Graphics Fairy!
Visiting from the Graphics Fairy. What a beautiful table, and great find!
Hi, very very cute table, I love this project! ciao, Sofia
I just saw that this darling table was featured by The Graphics Fairy. Congratulations, Kathy.
Can you not just modpodge the image on photo paper right onto the table without doing the transfer method?? Help please!
Awesome table! I too, am having lot's of problems transferring! Very frustrated...have tried Modge Podge & mat mediums. There is always a shadow around the picture - even when I cut very close to the typography. It's really noticeable on furniture where there's a color involved instead of white. Any advice??? Thanks!
Kathy, did you ever get any help? When I try the modge podge transfer method nothing transfer off! As you say very frustrating! Not sure what I am doing wrong!
Wow, I just saw your gorgeous table featured at The Graphics Fairy - you did a wonderful job on this. After a quick browse at your blog, you are a MUST FOLLOW. Looking forward to seeing your projects.
