The day I found the set of dishes for my daughter, at the place where I have my booth space {Lebanon Peddlers Mall}, I also walked past some Friendly Village dishes at another booth on my way to the checkout. They probably should put a back-up beeper on those carts, because back-up I did!
Sandwich/dessert plates were sitting there with the same covered bridge on the teacups I found and one of the two dinner plates I picked up a few months ago at my local antique mart, so I had to get these. I will look forward to using these once the cooler weather is back.
My second dinner plate depicts a pretty church scene. I really love the pattern on these dishes, as well as the scenes in the middle.
I don’t need a lot of pieces of this set, since it is just the two of us now. I’m enjoying finding the pieces as surprises when I’m out and about, as opposed to actively searching for them.

Oh I love that pattern too, such pretty scenes. That's a great find. Hugs, Marty
I love them, Kathy. Isn't it fun when you find something so unexpectedly? Love it- xo Diana

Isn't it always true that we find things when not looking for them. But if we are specifically looking for them - we can never find them. Pretty pieces for your collection!

So gorgeous! What a great find!
I'm also collecting this set piece by piece. It is so beautiful and reminds me of one of my favorite times of year everytime I see a piece. Good luck and happy hunting.
I like that pattern. I like that they have different scences. How is your both going. Some day I am going to have to visit that place and the new one opening up.
Oh Kathy, they are beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful day, Gail
When my mother-in-law passed away, I received 12 place settings of Friendly Village. I have been picking up missing pieces when I see them just like you. We start using our FV September 1st switching to Christmas Spode on December 1st and then Currier and Ives blue on February 1st.
Hi Kathy, I love this pattern and the fun of finding gorgeous pieces like this one by one.
Have a great week.
Hugs!
That is such a pretty series. It will be fun to set your table with it. Happy dish hunting.
I found a few pieces at Cmas Tree Shop for a dollar. It was probably after Cmas though! Fun to find things unexpectedly!
Your dishes are so pretty- I love the colors in them. Finding something unexpectedly is like a surprise gift in the mail- it just makes the heart smile. :)
The unexpected are the best of finds Kathy. I love your blog header too btw..looks gorgeous!
You're a girl after my own heart! I love dishes and that is one gorgeous set. Have fun gathering them and good luck.
Friendly Village is the most comforting pattern. It is also beautiful. I bought two dinner plates recently.
I adore these dishes, so glad you were able to find them. Can't wait to see how you use them this winter!
My good friend's daughter also has Friendly Village. I always keep an eye out for it when I'm antiquing or at estate sales. Maybe I'll need to put you on my list, too! Cherry Kay
