Just to give you some info on Buttoned Up ~ it was started by a team of ladies who, with varied circumstances, needed to get their lives organized, but were unable to find products that could help them.   Their trial and error has resulted in organizational help for women everywhere.

A summary of their 3 Cardinal Rules:

  • Stop chasing perfection
  • Focus on the 20% of tasks that are critical
  • Learn to delegate effectively

I think you will enjoy the many different topics and articles, the products they offer, tools {free downloadable forms for organizing} and giveaways.

So, maybe I’ll see you over there!

Wine Caddy to Plant Holder

Last week I shared this wire wine bottle caddy that I had gotten at Goodwill.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it.

Here it is spray painted white.  I used Krylon and the can said it is good for metal, wood, etc.  I hung it on a tree branch and was able to get most of it covered this way.

And here it is with faux geraniums I had stored in my basement.  These are, surprisingly,  done very well, and they are in tall, narrow terracotta pots {which you can just see through the wire}.  I got them at Hallmark about eight years ago.  You can’t really see the handle in this picture as I put the flowers on either side of it, but I can pick it up and put it anywhere I feel I need some color.  Even if it is faux!

I’ve already put it in my gazebo and am eager to get this season started!

One project down, 789 to go!  I like to get these difficult projects out of the way first!

A Quickie

I’m in the middle of cooking and cleaning today, but came across an idea that I wanted to share.  Remember how I got this basket at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago?

And then I spray painted it Heirloom White?

IMG_5319_2713

Well, in my cleaning up I had to get this basket out of the garage so I was putting it in my gazebo.  Which leads me to my great and quick decorating idea.  Yesterday I was in Michaels and I found these little metal signs ~ 50% off.  So I bought three.  I had one leaning near the gazebo originally thinking I’d tack up a nail and hang it.  I picked it up and held it up to the handle of the basket and thought “it’s too bad this can’t get on here”.   But, why not?  Looking at the wire hanger, it was just looped closed, which needle nose pliers opened up for me.

I looped it around the handle and used the pliers to reclose the wire around the sign. I love it!

Happy Easter!

I Started A Boutique Blog

I recently started a second blog ~ a boutique blog, called Expressive Creations.  I am throwing myself into the selling arena, but am not quite ready to do Etsy.  This seemed like the next best thing.

I thoroughly enjoy making many of my projects, but do not have room to keep or display them all.  Rather than just sticking them in a closet, this seemed to be a good idea.

I’ll also be adding any home decor finds I come across that I feel may be of interest, and I’ll be adding a few more items in the coming weeks.

I hope if you get a chance you’ll take a gander at my boutique.

Constructive feedback is welcome ~ via e-mail, please.

~ Take Note ~

My frugalicious finds that I’m sharing this week are these notecards I picked up from Michaels.

IMG_5464_2778

There are 8 cards to a pack and they were $.50 a pack!  Let me say that again ~ $.50 a pack!   I was immediately caught by their designs and picked up one of each design I saw.  {Of course, I can’t remember to pick up styrofoam balls, but manage to pick up notecards that I didn’t even want when I walked in the store}.

I love having notecards on hand because I like to include a note when I’m mailing out a giveaway, and I also like to send a personal handwritten note to clients on occasion.

I like these because they incorporate designs that are popular right now and I like the variety of colors to them.

So, that’s what I’ve got for this week!  I’m linking this post up with Frugalicious Friday over at Finding Fabulous, hosted by Frugalista Jane.
