I finally took my new sewing machine out of the box this past weekend, along with all the accessories, pieces and cords.
It’s a beautiful piece of technology and when I plugged it in and turned it on, it purred to life and lit up like the tree at Rockefeller Center! I was loving it. Until my eyes fell on this.
Yes, apparently it is the SAT’s all over again. I’m a little worried that there’s a disc in addition to all these books {I’m hoping one of them is the Cliff Notes version}. I did figure out how to get the sewing machine portion up and working. I got some things made for my Etsy, what with Mother’s Day coming up fast!
I’m offering 25% off in my Etsy now through Mother’s Day! Use code MOTHERSDAY25.
Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win a stencil of your choice from Cutting Edge Stencils here. Giveaway ends May 4th!

Kathy, I am still waiting for a sewing machine that you feed a pattern into one side and it spits out a dress on the other side.:):) well that's my dream machine. I read so many manual through my old job, that I almost panic when I see one now. You will do fine and I can't wait to see more of your crafts. Smiles, Susie
Oh, my machine is quite simple and probably will keep it that way! Technology is fantastic with all it can help us do, but at the same time I get completely overwhelmed when faced with new technology for the first time. Glad you figured out at least the basic stuff!
I like your pretties! Janell
Hi Kathy,
I'm sure you will figure out the sewing machine in no time. Your crafts are beautiful.

Ha ha, I felt like that when I opened up my new camera, all the buttons and manuals!
Have fun with your new machine!!
I still haven't figured out all of the things my machine can do. I think I'd need a week without breaks to even begin to figure it all out.
OOhh yay - may have to go sh opping for myself! LOL!
YOU HAVE THE BEST SHOP!!!!
Thanks, Kath!!
Hi darling, what a piece of art. I'm sure you'll figure out the new machine in no time. You make such beautiful things.. looking forward to more. hugs ~lynne~
Oh- You did a darned good job WITHOUT reading the instruction book~ Just imagine...if you DO read it I can't imagine WHAT you will accomplish. Have a wonderful day- xo Diana
Hi Kathy! I'm sure you'll figure out all the things your new machine does. I just have a simple zig zag and work it pretty hard! :)
Lovely things you've made too.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Love your new posts! I keep the same phone and keep hoping it never stops working because I can text on it really well and I don't have to learn how to use a smart phone! Looks like a fantastic machine! Have a nice day.
Beautiful creations, Kathy! Glad you're able to use that pretty neat sewing machine now...Christine
I hate anything technie! I just started texting about a year ago and that was only because of my daughter....LOL! You made some lovely things for your Etsy shop. The gift tags are beautiful. Enjoy your day, Gail
Kathy, everything is so beautiful that you made for your Etsy shop! Good luck with the new sewing machine. :) ~ Jamie
I had the same feeling exactly when Joe bought me my MacDaddy camera which included manuals and a CD. I read the manual which seemed to be in an ancient language. I tell you I am winging it. You seem to be doing fine with your new machine. What we enjoy and have to do we will do.
Kathy...I want a machine that I can just talk to:
"Make me a pillow with ruffles and a large monogramed "S" in the middle" and was-laa it's done...Now that's a machine!!
Good luck on the sewing machine..I am sure you will have it mastered in no time!
You sound like me when it comes to reading manuals. I hate doing that and am so impatient. Good idea to shop Etsy for Mothers Day too!
Just stopping by to say Hi..May you have the best week ever my friend..Hugs and smiles Gloria
Wow what a complicated machine! I'm still trying to learn my camera and photoshop!
Love all the things you made for your etsy!
Feeling your pain. I love your very first comment. I am with Susie. Thanks for sharing. Great Post! Cheers SpecialK XoXo
Love your new machine, Kathy, looks like fun! I'm tired of instruction manuals the size of "War and Peace". My husband groans, but I read enough to get myself going and work the rest out on the fly. Then I just use my manuals to troubleshoot.
