Toile ~ It’s Not Just For Fabric

I had some time to look through my current issue of Country Living magazine recently and came across some toile that caught my eye.

Love the scene on this pitcher!

This tea set.  I could just picture a plate of muffins alongside this.

How about a mouse pad?

Or a toile hamper?  Okay, it’s fabric, but I’ve never seen toile fabric used in a hamper.

I’ve seen toile or transferware on dishes and think it looks so pretty.  I know that locally {in my area} you can find those retail at Home Goods, Marshalls and TJ Maxx, but you could probably also find some at Good Will or thrift stores.  I think I’ll be keeping an eye out for the toile drinking glasses!

I picked up a yard of toile fabric recently, not because I had a project in mind but because it was too pretty to leave behind :-) Maybe a hamper?

Love the examples you've displayed! Funny, years ago, I never was a fan of toile. Now it seems recently, I'm really starting to like it. Just goes to show how our tastes change.

Thanks for sharing!

I love toile, Kathy! One of my past homes was decorated in a European Country Cottage style, and I used lots of toile fabrics and transferware.

I still love it to this day and use it where I can...even in my cottage farmhouse. :)

I love my collection of red transferware and try to pick up additional pieces when ever I see it being unloved!

The glasses were my favorite.
