Based on some tips I’ve read on other blogs, I kept some business magnets that I have been receiving in the mail to use for future projects. I had an opportunity to put a couple of them to use.
I had printed out a “contact sheet” of pictures of my granddaughter thinking they might work as wallet size. They were too small, but rather than just throw the sheet of pictures out, I decided to cut them out and make magnets with them!
I first found some scrap scrapbook paper and used the magnet to get the size. I cut out each little picture and put it on the magnet to see how many I might get from each. The smaller magnet will only give me two, but the larger one gives me eight.
I Mod Podged the paper to the face of the magnet. When that dried I applied a coat of Mod Podge to the top of that.
I found this small piece of cardboard that was holding a little pin and it seemed the perfect size for me to cut the magnet down to and then adhere the picture on top {almost like a border or frame look}.
Sneaking in granddaughter shot.
The great thing about this project was that I already had everything on hand and didn’t have to spend any money.
Great gift idea especially with the holidays not too far off. As a stocking stuffer or combined with a magnetic memo board. What new Mom or Grandma wouldn’t like something like this?

Hey Kathy! What a creative use for those magnets that, unfortunately, sometimes wind up in the garbage. Your grandbaby is precious and how fun she can now decorate more spaces now. Too, love that this was mostly a no cost project. Take care, Becca (PS: thank you so much for your sweet comments on my Fall kitchen.)
She is so gorgeous...I know you just have the best time snuggling with her. Great tip on the magnet pictures...I can see one hanging on the side of my fridge.
