Goodwill Lamp Updated

Among other things that got spray painted this past weekend was the larger of the two lamps pictured here, that I had picked up from Goodwill for my daughter.  If you recall the post where I first shared this lamp, it was this lovely shade of green.  It also had a crack in the base, which I filled with wood fill.  It did not have a shade.

Unfortunately, with the changing of the clocks that doesn't leave me enough daylight to take "after" pictures, unless I want to wait for the weekend; and I don't.  After the wood fill dried, I sanded the lamp and then spray painted with Rustoleum Black, satin finish.

On a trip to Target this week, I found a lamp that was similar in height and used it to model some lampshades.  This lovely was the winner.  At $19.99 for the shade and $4.99 for the lamp, it still makes for a great bargain!

What a great table lamp and I really love the shape.  I hope my daughter enjoys it!

The lamp turned out great.... Don't you wish there was a neverending supply of cheap lampshades at Goodwill?? I've had to pay more for shades than lamps A LOT lately, but that one is perfect for the cute black lamp.

Very nice! I have been looking for a tall lamp to go in my half bath at GW and other thrifts but to no avail as of yet. This one you found is just wonderful! I love it black too! Wonderful choice on the shade as well. It will look great wherever you put it. Great transformation!

Fabulous, Kathy! LOL, funny isn't it, we find great bargains for the base but have to pay more for the shade!

One of these days I'm going to have to make it back down to Goodwill.

The lamp looks great. You picked out the perfect shade to go with it.
I know what you mean about no daylight now for pictures. I hate taking photos without natural light and I don't want to wait for the weekends to take photos either.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Wow it turned out great! I love the finished project with the great shade. You are a visionary I think I would have looked seen the crack in the base and just left it. Great idea to use the wood filler and make a beautiful black lamp.

Hi Kathy! Great redo on the lamp...your daughter should love it. Thank you for your comments on the house I decorated. It was a bit scary on that tall ladder. I could barely reach the top! Thank you for praying for little Lily too. What a precious little baby. I am praying for a miracle.

You asked about the chip and dip and Christmas cookies platter...I thought about selling them online, but like you, was not sure about the shipping. I would hate for them to get broke! They just throw those boxes! The brand is Mud Pie if you want to check them out online. They have some adorable stuff!

Thanks again for your visit. Sorry I haven't been by in a while! I'm missing being able to sit down and visit my favorite blogs. Take care, Kristen

PS.. would you be willing to share where you found the smaller harlequin paper you have on the back of your craft table. I love it and need something to put in a small corner cabinet I am working on... thanks so much..

Thank you so much for all that you share. The colors in your home are the same as my own. I'm peaking in the background at wall colors as I ready to paint. I am helpless at this type of thing and appreciate so much your photographs. Your lamp looks new! Wonderful ideas here! Elizabeth
