Feeling Blue

One of the only things I found at Home Goods the last trip there were some frames on clearance {very disappointing trip}.  One of the frames I got was this little gold number ~ $5.00.  It’s very heavy and very gold.

To make it work for me I decided to dry brush some paint on it to cut down on the gold a bit.  I used this craft paint called Sky Blue {which is more of a Robin’s Egg Blue to me}.

I left some of the gold showing, but this frame now fits in with my bedroom.

Just A Little Giveaway

**This Giveaway has ended.**

DSC00433_0154

I think we could all use a little pick-me-up right about now.  All this snow and February being the snowiest month can really get to people.  So I have a few little items I picked up to give away!

An @ pad, a set of pencils with numbers and a package of post-it flags and notes, which combine the two graphics.

Nothing fancy or expensive, just some cute little things I came across.  If you’d like to enter just leave me a comment below.  You do not have to be a follower, although I always like to meet new bloggy friends!  Make sure you leave an email if you do not have a blog.  Winner has 48 hours to respond after being notified of winning.  This giveaway will end on Saturday, February 5, 2011, midnight EST.

ToweLocs Review

I had an opportunity to try out a ToweLoc recently.   ToweLocs are fasteners that secure your towels and keep them from falling off of your towel racks or holders.  I don’t have towel racks or holders in my bathrooms {we go for the sloppy look here at the Passarette house, with the towels just sitting neatly on the countertop}.

I tried my ToweLoc out in my kitchen, because I do like to have a towel draped on my oven door handle.  Many {many} times I have found this towel on the floor.  I got this coral colored one to try out.

I turned mine on the diagonal just to be different.

It’s very easy to use.  It is similar to a post type earring.

After looking through the site, I found a few that caught my eye, like this fleur de lis design.

Or you could get one for the holidays.

Clever idea; pretty and functional!  They come in metal, glass and stone.  What a great item to include with a gift of towels.

That Much Closer To Spring

The Audra Slipper Chair ~ a blank canvas waiting for you to dress her up {from Pier 1}.  Or as I’m seeing it ~ like the snow covering my yard.

Here’s what I want my yard to look like ~ right now, please!  A short skirted slipcover with some lovely flowers and multiple ruffles.  The promise of Spring.

A long skirted slipcover ~ a flirty toile ensemble.  This one makes me think of my hydrangeas when the flowers dry.

I am so ready for Spring!  Meanwhile, I will content myself by looking at all the new Spring catalogs coming out and pretty pictures online.
