Ooooh, Ooooh ~ I’m In A Magazine!

Well, it’s just my interview with Christina Strutt but it does have my name and picture!

Cover1

I just got my new issue of Creating Vintage Charm.  A new magazine that I discovered quite by accident right around the holidays.  Here is a link to the website.  I have found it quite charming and lovely, plus it mentions people I know; like in this issue my friend Cindy Adkins is profiled.  Last issue it was Jane from Mamie Jane.

How pathetic am I?  I’m 47 years old and I can’t wait to show my Mom!

So What DID I Make With That Fabric?

Finally, the third project idea, which was the table runner fabric, came from a comment that my bloggy friend, Paula from Castle and Cottage made {thanks, Paula!}.  I also got to use the ruffle that I had left from the table runner on this project as well.

A tote bag!  I kept it simple because I never made one before.  I used webbing from Joanns for the handles.  I put the ruffle on the back and the front of the opening.

Sweet!  I love all three projects!

New {Old} Floral Arrangement

DSC00821_0494

I had a floral arrangement in a large jug type vase in my entry hall that I took apart a couple of years ago.  I kept everything, but just stored it for the time being.  You can see it in the picture below.  I sat it on the column to add height.

When I took it apart a couple of weeks ago, I took the florals and swished them around in a plastic bag filled with epsom salts {to knock off any dust}.  I then found a pot that my daughter had given me and I had the foam to put inside it.  I didn’t want a tall arrangement again, so I did quite a bit of clipping.

I put the hydrangeas all around the outside and used their leaves to hang over the rim a little bit.  I then put the ranunculus and roses in the middle portion.  I really love it and what makes me even happier is that I just reused what I already had.

I think this would take me right through the Summer months, too!

1, 2, 3, Done!

I have a client I’ve been working with and we are currently accessorizing, organizing and doing a temporary facelift to her kitchen.  My client likes to keep things within easy reach while cooking at the stove and I purchased a couple of new things for her to hold her oils and cooking utensils in.

I found these plain boxes at Home Goods.  They fit everything really well and while we are doing mainly black and white in her kitchen, they are kind of plain.  So I thought we could dress them up a bit.

For about $12.00 I got these two monograms for the storage boxes from a seller on Etsy, empressivecreations, that I’ve used a few times.  She is always very helpful to me, especially when I need to figure out sizes.

After hoping with fingers crossed that I wouldn’t mess up the thin swirls, I applied them as directed and here they are.

Now they are uniquely the family’s and are ready to sit on her counter making functional items pretty!
