Mixing Dish Patterns For Tablescape Thursday

For my last Fall tablescape before Thanksgiving, I wanted to try mixing the dish patterns from previous tablescapes. I pulled out the napkins, napkin rings and dishes I got from Pier 1 about a month ago. The dishes were on clearance. I wanted to see how my Country Living salad plates from Kmart would go with these.

I had picked up the runner at Home Goods and liked it because it didn't have a specific motif, but the colors work for Fall. I also used the glasses I got on clearance at Kohl's.

They have different flower patterns going on, but because the colors are the same, it worked for me.

Nice to know I can change things up just by mixing the plates around a bit!

My New Dishes Arrived!

I was so happy that my new dishes arrived in time for this week's Tablescape Thursday over at Between Naps On The Porch!! I think they are even prettier in person!

I set the table, even though I am seriously lacking in placemats, napkins or a tablecloth at the moment, but I wanted everyone to see them. I used the amber colored little dishes I picked up at Goodwill on Saturday {$2.99 for the set of 4}.

This is the small bowl that is part of this line ~ perfect for holding a vegetable.

This is the design on the dinner plates that you really couldn't see in my previous post. It's very subtle.

The beautiful salad plate. I love this design!

Here they are together. I like that they are not exactly the same, but work together.

My candles from Kohl's, Chestnut Souffle, on a long, plain platter I bought and put some leaf garland, real little pumpkins and gourds, and my wood acorns make up the centerpiece.

Maybe next week I can pull it together enough to have proper linens and even some utensils!

Future Tablescape On Order

Thanks to Manuela at the Pleasures of Homemaking, I visited Kmart online today, because I loved her Country Living collection dishes. While I love Manuela's red dishes and accessories, I was more interested in this series of the Country Living collection:

Salad plate

I just fell in love with this pattern and am a fan of the "faded" look. You can't see it on the dinner plate, but there is a nice little pattern on the edge along with the brown band.

Dinner plate

Love the idea of using this bowl for serving vegetables. A platter would be a lovely addition to this collection, too.

Bowl

You wouldn't believe the price ~ $38.00! 4-salad plates; 4-dinner plates; and 1 bowl! I may even be able to interchange this out with the dishes I got on clearance from Pier 1 a month or so ago {although I only purchased 2 table settings of those dishes}.

My Pier 1 plates

What a great buy for someone just starting out on their own or newlyweds' everyday dishes.

Although this isn't a tablescape, I'm hooking this post up with Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch. Can't wait to set my table with these and share them as a real tablescape!

Also hooking up with Frugalicious Friday at Finding Fabulous.
