I took a trip to Goodwill this morning and my son {19} tagged along with me. I figured it had been a couple of weeks since the first time I ever went to Goodwill and they would probably have some "newer" stuff out.
Frames were on my mind this trip because I have some projects I'd like to make and I needed frames. I found these two that had kind of an antiquey look to them that I thought might work for one project. I'll be posting that Monday. These frames were $2.99 each.
I also found these Christmas frames ~ new in box! One I'm going to give as a gift and the "Let It Snow" one I'm keeping, since it matches a pillow I won from a giveaway by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. These frames were also $2.99 each.
I was looking for pillar candle holders to paint and/or transform, but they didn't have any. I did find these cute little pots though. I may leave the one with polka dots alone, except try to make the dots white {they are more cream or tan right now}. The other one I will definitely paint. I think they are asking for a couple of cute little topiaries to dress them up. The pots were $.99 each!
Here is what I consider the scores of this trip.
I was fully prepared to do some shoving, grabbing and poking {only if necessary} when I saw this fabric. Which turned out not to be fabric but a curtain panel! It's still destined to be pillows and whatever else I can get out of it. I did start to sweat a little bit at the register because the cashier couldn't find a price sticker and they have a sign up that says "No price tag, no sale, no exceptions!". I tried to play it cool and look like I didn't care, but inside I was saying "please, please, please". I got it for $2.99!
The ultimate score was this storage ottoman my son found as soon as we walked in. The tags are still on it! It has a little tear in the top corner, which you can't even see unless you look. When we got home I checked Target online ~ this retails for $80.00. He got it for $25.00!! {Well, I paid, so I got it for $25.00 for him}.
Did I say the tags were still on it! Here it is with the lid up.

Great deals! I have that curtain panel. I use it for a background when I take photos sometimes. It's from Target and fairly recent merchandise. I paid $20 for mine at the store, so way to go!
You really did score. I love all of the frames and the two pots are just so cute. The curtain panel is stunning, love the fabric and the ottoman is a real find. You did soooooooo good. Hugs, Marty
What fun finds! You really found some wonderful things that I am sure you will put to great and creative uses.
Thats where I should be going today! I have that same ottoman, only I bought mine for full retail. Great finds!
I'm thinking you are right! Goodwill Target finds are the BEST and I am loving that curtain panel you found. It is going to look great in your new room! Congrats :).
Looks like you made out at your Goodwill! My Goodwill almost never has cool stuff, or I don't go often enough!
Just found your blog and I can tell I'm going to love - a lot! I'm off to do some more exploring around your place.
I think I would have started sweating to over that piece of fabric; it's GORGEOUS!
You got some great stuff today Kathy! Especially that storage ottoman...I can only hope to get that lucky!!
The ottoman is a fantastic Goodwill find! Love those!
Great day at the Goodwill! No thrifting for me today...I finally got all of my Halloween decorations put away, I had to make room for Christmas! Look forward to seeing what you do with some of your finds.

She hunts, she scores. Nice job, Kathy! I love that fabric (curtain) and the ottoman was a wonderful find! I bet a leather repair kit would do the trick on that tear. I, too, get freaked out when there isn't a tag on something I want. I've never had someone turn down the sale, though. You did well, my friend!
great score on ottoman and love that fabric.. mishellle
Hey, I have tagged you!! Start blogging :)
I never thought to go to Goodwill, but as I see you never know what treasures might be hiding there.
Great score at the Goodwill Kathy! I love going to our Goodwill and Salvation Army ~ you never know what potential treasure you will find!

I love to go to places like goodwill, it's the hunt that's the most fun. I once got a whole set of "new" calphlon cookware for $80.00. I went to the department stores and looked at each peice. It would have cost around $400.
I am so proud of you. YOu did great today. I would have wrestled you over the panel. I WANT IT!!! Seriously, do you know who/where it came from??? GW is addicting when you have days like this. Great job!
That was a great trip. I use to check out our local Good Will store frequently but now we have moved an hour away from any one of them. I miss those shopping trips.
I forgot to add a thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog on my previous comment!
Great deals, love the ottoman and the material. Thanks for sharing.

That sounds like an awesome Saturday with your man. I love my Goodwill and have had some great scores myself. My last "OMG, hurry up and start the car" moment was finding a french metal shoe rack for $5.00. Actually no one else probably knew what it was so I shouldn't have worried - but I totally get the heart pounding at the register. I enjoyed your site. Thanks for sharing.
I really need to start going to goodwill. I wanted that target ottoman!
